I have content and I’m unsure what to do next?
Arrow
  • We support different types of file formats for different types of digital content. some text
    • 3D Assets: .glb (preferred), .gltf, or .fbx (mixed results)
    • Videos: .mp4
    • Images: .png (preferred for transparency), .jpg
    • What Works Best in AR?
Can I test my content before uploading?
Arrow
  • Yes, you can upload your content to our Content Management Website. Through here you can view all types of content outlined above.
Why is my Content “Floating”?
Arrow
  • Sometimes content can appear at a different depth than it seems.
  • Walk around the Content to make sure it is where you think it is spatially and not behind any walls.
  • If confirmed to not be a collision issue, please look into the Content’s scale and position.
    • The scale of the asset is either too large or too small
    • Placement of the asset does not line up with the floor indicator. (The floor indicator is a circle which you can also grab to move an object forward and backward. A line extends above the floor indicator to show height).
The App is Crashing when loading my 3D asset?
Arrow
  • If the crash is directly related to a specific Model or Scene it is most often related to poor performance practices for AR or a File format issue with the export.
  • Please consult the model optimization and Best Practices for AR Graphics help section.
Why is my App Stuttering?
Arrow
  • This is a result of Low Frame-Rate and is a symptom of poor performance practices.
  • This also happens due to Low Battery as well.
  • If it is not a device issue, please consult the model optimization and Best Practices for AR Graphics help section.
Why doesn’t my 3D asset show up in the correct spot?
Arrow
  • The asset will attempt to snap itself into the physical world automatically based on what it understands is the Floor as well as the Wall. If the Model is showing up too close to the user this usually means that something is in the way of the intended location.
  • You can turn on and off collisions with the World Planes setting in Settings.
  • If the 3D model is not centered before being added to Trace Studio, this could point to Placement Issues with the pivot point.
I’m unable to grab my Content
Arrow
  • This could be a result of the Bounding Boxes overlapping with one another. Be sure to spread Content further.
  • Check to make sure there is a clear bounding box within the original model before uploading to Trace Studio.
Why is my 3D asset flickering or Disappearing?
Arrow
  • The individual faces of a 3D asset could be overlapping with one another, causing a flicker effect.
  • Verify that your 3D asset is properly centered if it is disappearing.
  • It may be running into collision issues. Turn off 'World Planes' within Settings
What is an Anchor?
Arrow
  • An Anchor is a way to tie AR content to the physical world. We use Image Anchors to situate AR content to a space. This could be a static picture, sign or marker.  All of your AR content will be relative to this location once it is set up. That is why it is important that your Anchor is static and will not move or your whole scene will also move.
